**NUTRITION matters: The choice you make plays a vital role in the Health and Longevity of your pet.
© FOOD: We recommend Purina Pro Plan Lamb & rice all life stage small bites for puppies, and Purina Pro Plan savor shredded lamb & rice for adults. You can easily order on Chewy or Amazon. Most PetSmart stores carry the full line as well.
Feed 2-3 times per day. The puppies prefer if you add warm water and let it sit for 1-2 minutes.
Please do not switch you puppy on to a grain-free diet unless a grain allergy is specifically identified. The FDA has noted that grain free diets have increased cases of canine dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) in dogs. If you would like an alternate food recommendation, we are happy to suggest some.

BASICS:
____ Snood a sleeve-like hood to keep ears out of food & water bowls, and from picking up debris outside. (Soon, you'll be able to order one hand made by my mom! As soon as she has some inventory, we will post links.)
____ Food and water bowls ( stainless steel – avoid plastic which can leach into the food/water )
____ Bed: Find something easy to clean and hard to destroy!
____ Leash - we prefer the all in one slip style.
____ PLEASE be sure to register your AKC Reunite microchip!!!
____ ID tag and collar
____ waste bags - for walks
____Crate ©- Best to purchase a metal crate with a divider to remove once they grow . This is the best way to potty train and your dog. Not ‘cruel’ but actually gives your puppy comfort like a ‘den’ once they adjust to it. They will cry at 1st much like a baby adjusting to a crib.
TRAINING:
____ Puppy pee pads - if you plan to train your pup indoors at any time (they have been using pee pads, and you can place them in the desired area, even outside, where you want them to go potty)
____ Paper towels & spot cleaner - for accidents
____ Teething toys - don't play with your hands!
____ Puppy treats – We love NuVet and so does your pup. You can break up the tablets to treat size, or use kibble. If using others CHECK INGREDIENTS! Many have fillers and ingredients that may cause upset tummies and diarrhea. I steer away from the beggin strips and things like that. I go away from the 'exotic' flavors, and towards higher end treat brands like Nulo and Origen.

GROOMING:
____ Shampoo and conditioner - I have used the Espree line from Petco, and NuVet makes shampoo & conditioner too. My favorite higher-end shampoos would be Ashley Craig show salon spa & Chris Christensen's line. NuVet also carries their own. Don’t use human products- Dogs have different PH and human shampoos are irritating
____ Dog brushes and combs also available at Ashley Craig and Chris Christensen. I can recommend others depending on how you want to keep their coats. For at home maintenance grooming, I recommend a pin brush, slicker brush, greyhound comb, and a Mars coat king stripping rake (20 blade original.)
____ Dog tooth brush and toothpaste
____ Ear cleaner Phytovet on Amazon or NuVet’s is great too
